What a great day all the helpers had on Saturday 21st December, 2024 with Santa comes to Somerville. This day is special to the Group as we try each year to bring happiness and goodwill to the shopping centres of Somerville.
It is always fantastic to see all the smiles (and tears) of the little ones as they get a photo with Santa, a Christmas bag and to let Santa know what they want for Christmas.
This was our fifth year of putting this on and the third year of the Best Dressed Window competition.
A big thank you to the following for their help leading up to the big day and on the day-:
Santa (via the North Pole).
Bronwyn Welsh - brilliant organization of everything for both events.
Jenna Nelson - Social Media and advertising of both events (Bells Creative Landscaping).
Lorna Bock (LBW Advisory) - collecting the hamper prizes and preparing the hamper.
Chris Walsh on the day and printing flyers for the day (Walsh Conveyancing).
Zoe McKenzie MP - for printing flyers for the day.
Design to Print - for printing more flyers for the day.
Georgia & Hannah -our two elves wonderfully representing Somerville Secondary College and a credit to their parents.
Adam Bell (Bells Creative Landscaping) for directing traffic to Santa on the day with the sign.
Aled Roberts (Almahurst) for lugging the trolley around Somerville on the day.
Somerville Central for permitting us to walk around the shopping centre.
Somerville Plaza for also permitting us to walk around their shopping centre.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council for the grant to help us pay for costs on the day.
There was fantastic support from all the traders who appreciated Santa calling in and spreading chaos and Christmas cheer on Saturday morning. As one lady said to us, it was a great community event. Thank you.
It was fantastic to see Somerville people come out in record numbers and we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. Enjoy the holidays.
